What is the Instagram Highlight Viewer?
Instagram Highlights let users save their favorite stories to their profile beyond the 24-hour limit. A highlight can have a custom cover and a title such as 'Travel,' 'Q&A,' or 'Events.'
IGScope's Highlight Viewer reads the public highlight list for a username and displays each cover along with the number of stories it contains. You can open a highlight to browse the individual stories inside.
Only public highlights from public accounts are accessible. If a highlight is deleted or the account becomes private, it disappears from the results.
How it works
Three simple visual steps to get started.
Search for the username
Enter the public account whose highlights you want to explore.
Open Highlights tab
Click Highlights on the result page to see all saved collections.
Select a cover
Tap a highlight cover to open its stories in the modal viewer.
Step-by-step tutorial
- 1
Open the Highlight Viewer
Start at /instagram-highlight-viewer and use the search bar.
- 2
Type a public username
Enter a username or paste a profile URL. The parser accepts both formats.
- 3
Load the profile
Press Search. If the account is public, the profile summary loads with tabs for Posts, Reels, Stories, and Highlights.
- 4
Open the Highlights tab
Click or tap the Highlights tab to see the list of saved highlight collections.
- 5
Browse a highlight
Select a cover to open the stories inside that highlight. You can move through the items if the highlight contains more than one story.
How Instagram Highlights work
Highlights are built from previously shared stories. The owner chooses which stories to keep, groups them, and optionally gives the group a title and a cover image. The highlight then appears below the bio on the owner's profile.
Because highlights come from stories, each item inside a highlight originally had a 24-hour lifespan. Saving it to a highlight makes it semi-permanent until the owner removes it.
Highlight visibility
Highlights inherit the privacy setting of the account. Public accounts show public highlights to anyone, including IGScope. Private accounts hide their highlights from anyone who is not an approved follower.
Owners can delete individual highlights or remove stories from a highlight at any time. Once deleted, the content is no longer available through IGScope or Instagram.
Highlights vs. active stories
Active stories are temporary and disappear after 24 hours. Highlights are saved collections that persist on the profile. Both are limited to public content, but highlights are easier to browse over time because they are organized by topic.
Highlights vs. Active Stories
| Feature | This tool | Comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Lifespan | Permanent until deleted | 24 hours |
| Organization | Grouped by cover/title | Sequential, ungrouped |
| Discoverability | Pinned to profile | Top of app, then expires |
| Deletion | Owner can remove anytime | Auto-deletes after 24h |

Troubleshooting
No highlights appear
The account may not have created any highlights, may be private, or may have removed them. Only public highlights are listed.
Highlight cover is blurry
Covers are pulled from public CDN URLs. If the owner uploaded a low-resolution cover, that is what IGScope can display.
Stories inside a highlight won't load
The underlying stories may have been deleted, or the CDN links may have expired. Try another highlight or refresh the page.
A highlight disappeared
Owners can delete highlights at any time. IGScope shows only what is currently public.
Why use IGScope for highlights?
- Browse saved public story collections in one place
- No Instagram login or follow request required
- Clean cover grid with titles and story counts
- Stories open in the same modal viewer used across IGScope
Frequently asked questions
Can I view deleted highlights?
No. If a highlight has been removed by the owner, it is no longer accessible through Instagram or IGScope.
Can I download highlights?
You can download individual stories inside a highlight using the Story Downloader if the stories are still public and downloads are enabled.
Why is the cover low quality?
Covers are fetched from public Instagram CDN sources. Quality depends on the image the account owner uploaded as the highlight cover.
Are highlights anonymous?
IGScope does not use your Instagram account to load highlights. Public highlights are fetched by username, so your view is not tied to an Instagram profile.
Can I see highlights from a private account?
No. Private highlights are only visible to approved followers. IGScope cannot bypass privacy settings.
How do I find highlights for a specific account?
Enter the username in the search bar, load the profile, and click the Highlights tab.
